Asiff Hirji leaves the biggest American stock market

Bitcoin caught fire during the last two weeks but everything was not going well in Coinbase. Chief Operating Officer and President Asiff Hirji decided to leave after 18 months at the exchange.

He joined Coinbase from Andreessen Horowitz, where he was a partner and then worked at Hewlett-Packard, Saxo Bank and TD Ameritrade. He is one of many senior executives who recently left the position.

Emilie Choi will badume the role. She joined CoinBase in March after eight years with LinkedIn, including as Vice President of Business Development.

For his part, Hirji hinted that his stay in Coinbase was still supposed to be temporary.
