The distraught commercial driver and his companion who were captured on video attacking a police officer will get legal badistance in court on April 1.
The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), Duncan Amoah, has engaged in an interview with Adom FM to ensure adequate legal and fair representation.
He argued that the court had not been fair to both men, especially when he had not asked the police officer to also appear in court.

"We all condemned the action of the two men, but eyewitnesses suggest that the police who arrested the driver was the first to slap him, "he said.
"Interestingly, the policeman was left out of court proceedings. If we want to have a deterrent effect, does the police officer also have to be involved in the process or is he above the law?Asked Mr. Amoah.
Amoah, who spoke to Adom News, also revealed that his team would badist the men in pretrial detention with a lawyer so that they can benefit from a fair trial.
On March 16, 2019, a video of two men – the driver of "trotro" and his mate badaulting a police officer went viral on social media.
The driver and his companion, identified respectively as Francis Buabeng and Albert Ansah, were brought to court on Monday, March 18, 2019.

They pleaded guilty to the offense amidst tears and without any legal representation.
They were then returned to court on April 1, 2019.
