DSP Tenge stated that the policeman, who was then using a motorcycle, chased them in a hot pursuit and stopped them in the Mallam traffic light area.
When the driver was arrested for breaking the rules of the road, the driver and his companion became furious and insulted the policeman.
A pbadenger secretly filmed the incident and posted it on social media.
Constable Ekpe, during the scrum, called for reinforcement, but by the time the reinforcement team arrived, the driver and his companion had fled from the scene abandoning the vehicle. Police towed the vehicle to the Odorkor Police Station where the police officer lodged a complaint.
The regional PRO of Accra noted that the Buabeng and Ansah suspects also went to the Mallam police station to file a complaint against the police officer.
"It's after the video went viral that we discovered that it was the same case in two different police stations," she said.
DSP Tenge said that with the help of the vehicle owner, the driver and his companion had been arrested to help police conduct investigations.
According to her, the two suspects arrested were provisionally charged with four counts, including conspiracy to commit a crime, badault on a public officer, badault on her. police integrity and obstruction.
