The Coronation Street love birds, Nicola Thorp and Charlie de Melo, reportedly separated after a 10-month relationship.
The co-stars started dating after working together on the ITV soap opera, but now they are said to have split up.
Nicola, 30, recently returned to the soap opera as Nicola Rubenstein, the murderous daughter of Pat Phelan, while Charlie, 28, plays the role of Attorney Imave Habeeb.
They had been close friends for about 10 years before creating a love story during their time together on the cobblestones.
But now, they say that they called it just before Christmas.
A source told the Sun: "Unfortunately, Nicola and Charlie have decided to cool things down after being separated.
"Nicola's brief departure from the soap opera earlier this summer has put their relationship to the test, even though she has returned to pebbles now.
"They decided to stay friends – although they do not hang out as platonically as before their couple."
The insider added that they were happy to stay as they are as long as things do not become troublesome to each other at work.
Last fall, Nicola had revealed that she was a little jealous to watch her boyfriend being offered a trio by characters Leanne and Toyah Battersby.
She said, "Let's say I'm very jealous of Charlie because Georgia [Taylor, who plays Toyah] and Jane [Danson, who plays Leanne] and are absolutely beautiful. This is a lucky man. "
Mirror Online has contacted representatives of Nicola and Charlie for their comments.
