Will this be the lucky second time for Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Carla Connor (Alison King) as they prepare to tie the knot? With the groom in desperate need of a liver transplant and the bride accused of cheating, it doesn’t look good.
Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) gives Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) false hopes for the future by declaring his love to Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), and Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill) is shaken when an online troll sends her a funeral wreath.
Here are all your Coronation Street spoilers for April 12-16, 2021.
Wedding drama for Carla and Peter
The Barlows gather, though most of them by video call, for Peter’s assessment for a liver transplant, without which he’s basically screwed up. However, the important date falls into chaos when Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) accuses Carla of cheating on her brother with old flame Lucas Kempton (Glen Wallace), before Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) enters. It looks like a COVID-enabled virtual version of that classic clan scene spreading their dirty laundry at Peter’s AA reunion a few years ago.
Putting the feuds behind them, Peter and Carla continue their plans for their intimate wedding at the end of the week, despite Daniel’s fears the groom is not doing well enough. Carla arrives at the hotel and is given away by a proud Roy Cropper (David Neilson), but as the couple say their vows, Peter starts to deteriorate and it’s clear they’re on time borrowed … long enough to say ‘I do’?
Tyrone cheats on Fiz
Fiz is a mess without Tyrone, so his heart leaps when he agrees to come back for the sake of the children. Even though he insists it’s not a romantic reconciliation, Fiz keeps his fingers crossed it’s only a matter of time before her boyfriend comes to his senses and realizes his attraction to Alina was just a hit.
Unfortunately, this is not the case, as Ty sneaks up to see Alina and declares that she is the one he loves, and he only lives with Fiz temporarily to give Hope and Ruby some stability. So with Fiz full of false hopes and reserving couples advice with Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), Tyrone quickly regrets his decision and wonders how he can keep Alina in his life. The rotter.
Cathy’s sinister threat
The trolling takes an even more sinister turn for Cathy when a funeral wreath is delivered to the Kabin. Nemesis Tracy denies behind this sick prank, so who is it? Take your pick, because hatred for Ms. Matthews spreads like butter on a bar of bacon.
Disturbed, Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) reports his partner’s online abuse to the police, but Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) says they are virtually powerless to do anything. After a creepy and compelling “ deepfake ” video of Cathy increases her eyesight, everything becomes too difficult and she flees the cobblestones to escape enemies. Brian wants to denounce her as a missing person, but Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) is hiding something about her disappearance – is she going to tell the truth?
Michael finds out who the daddy is
The DNA results are in and Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) is set to find out once and for all whether Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) or “Uncle” Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) is his biological father. Only, he can’t bring himself to open the envelope, so he asks little brother James Bailey (Nathan Graham) to open it for him. What does it say?
You’ll have to log in to find out, but suffice it to say that Michael must then deliver the news to Ed, regardless of the outcome. The beleaguered builder is injured, he slipped through his back and is tempted to resume bad old habits. Suspecting to play again, Michael confronts Ed when Aggie Bailey (Lorna Laidlaw) shows he has taken a grand from the joint account. Has he yet been bitten by the betting virus?
