Ms Eunice Dzigbede, an onion seller, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that closing schools due to the COVID-19 outbreak has made it difficult for commodity traders to make sales usual, in particular with the cooks of the various educational establishments. institutions in particular and the general public.

Mr. Innocent Zekortia, a tomato vendor, said he had good sales because they reduced the price of tomato from GH ¢ 40 per small collection to GH ¢ 25 ¢.

He revealed that although the market has seen an increase in the number of traders this year, resulting in the availability of basic commodities in the market, ranging from food items to clothing and more, people are not buying.

“You are witnessing a strangled market full of human trafficking, but they are only window shopping and not actually,” he said.

Ms. Hellen Agbeleke, a resident, revealed that there are enough food items on the market, but their prices seem sky-high.
