The editor of The New Crusading Guide newspaper has questioned the corruption charges of up to $ 5 million against Chief Justice Kwesi Anin-Yeboah.
Abdul Malik Kweku Baako regards this assertion by a lawyer, Akwasi Afrifa, as a “useless and malicious” enterprise that will ultimately lead to nothing.

The Kumasi-based lawyer made the allegation in a letter circulating on social media.
The letter was in response to an invitation by the General Legal Council to appear before it, in connection with a petition from his former client, Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta IV, for non-payment in the amount of $ 75,000 qu ‘he (Akwasi Afrifa, Esq) owes the latter.
Akwasi Afrifa alleged that his former client, Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta IV, had informed him that Chief Justice Kwesi Annin-Yeboah “demanded a bribe of $ 5,000,000 for a favorable outcome to his case and that he had already paid $ 500,000 to the Chief Justice ”.
But Judge Kwesi Anin-Yeboah dismissed the allegations and subsequently referred the case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Speaking to Joy News’ Newsfile on Saturday, Mr Baako insisted that development is a wasteful endeavor and has only received the chief justice’s current attention because of the integrity of his office. .
“Due to the high office occupied by the CJ, that’s why he decided on this look, let the CID, General Legal Council and others do something about it. He does not want to leave aside, it is that there will be speculation about his integrity, ”he told Samson Anyenini on Saturday.
His feelings were shared by IMANI Africa Vice President Kofi Bentil, who believes the allegations are mere fabrications and should be treated with the contempt they deserve.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), at a press conference on July 13, demanded that Judge Kwesi Anin-Yeboah step down temporarily, following the allegation.
But the chief policy analyst at the Ghana Institute of Public Policy Options, Charles Wereko-Brobby, believes that such calls are just political capital that must be rejected.
“If the chief had come out to say that the chief judge had asked him for the said sum, or that he had been made to pay the said sum, then this case would have demanded more merit, but as it is, it is hearsay. to say, and that should be fired for what it is, ”he added.
