Today, in its call for quarterly results, Costco announced that it had begun the process of "…"Apple products" by "mutual agreement".
The confusion seems to have been caused by various events highlighting fundamental incompatibilities between the two companies:
* Apple may have refused to offer Costco significant discounts from most other companies. As a result, Apple products have never been so cheap at Costco.
* Apple has always refused to allow Costco to sell its products online.
* iLounge reported in October that Apple had "snubbed" Costco on iPad shipments, overtaking the retailer and raining iPads at competitors like Target, Walmart and Sam's Club.
It is very likely that Costco will continue to sell third-party accessories compatible with Apple, including in stores and online.
