Accra, April 30, GNA –
Professor Peter Twumasi, Director General of the National Sports Authority
(NSA), said he was confident in the court, will solve the long-standing problem
dispute between George Haldane-Lutterodt and Ghana Athletics
Association (GAA).
The court of April 29
adjourned the case to May 7, 2019, after receiving the report of
the mediation committee set up by the NSA.
Mr. Lutterodt, former
President of GAA, who seeks to run again for the presidency, has placed a president
court injunction on the GAA elections, invoking injustice in the
process leading up to the conference.
According to the teacher
Twumasi, although due process must be followed, he was confident of a judgment
would soon be adopted to allow the badociation to resume its activities.
"We were expecting
ruling today especially after submitting the report of the mediation committees to the
court, but I understand that Mr. Lutterodt's side, wanted time to answer
to the report of Professor Menye's committee and the court granted them a
week to study the report, "said Professor Twumasi.
"Our judicial system
and besides the judicial procedures take a while, but I am convinced that
it will be solved soon, "he said.
He would be reminded
as Professor Twumasi in order to obtain an amicable settlement for both
the parties set up a committee to resolve the problem, which presented its
findings and work at the NSA and copied to the court for study.
