Covid-19: GHS records 3,867 active cases

Active cases of Covid-19 in the country have declined, according to data from the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

According to the latest update from the Service, a total of 3,867 active cases have been registered in the 16 regions as of September 20.

Of the cases recorded, 119 are said to be serious while 42 others are considered critical.

In addition, three people have died from the pandemic. The additional victims bring the death toll in the country to 1,142.

So far, 167 new cases have been registered. These cases have been recorded in six regions and at Kotoka International Airport (KIA).

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is 126,313 and of those cases, around 121,304 have recovered and left health facilities.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s health service on Friday began vaccinating citizens who have not been vaccinated against the virus at the Greater Accra regional health directorate.

The 5-day immunization exercise also paves the way for people who received the first dose of Astra Zeneca vaccine to receive their second vaccine.
