Patients treated with Sotrovimab, the new Covid-19 drug, praised the drug’s effectiveness in reducing symptoms within days.

Local health authorities in Abu Dhabi recently announced that the drug was 100% successful in preventing deaths and led to a 97% cure rate in patients.

And patients at the Covid-19 Prime Assessment Center run by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) said they felt relief after treatment.

Last week, releasing the results on the effectiveness of Sotrovimab in treating severe cases, health officials revealed that 97% of patients made a full recovery within 14 days.

Nermine stressed that she felt better within three days of taking Sotrovimab.

“Before taking this medicine, I was coughing very hard. I have never had a cough in my life because I don’t smoke. All of a sudden, I started coughing in a way that made it impossible for me to even speak. From the second or third day after taking this medicine, I started to feel much better, I stopped coughing, and other symptoms improved as well, ”Nermine said.

Patients receiving Sotrovimab belong to groups at risk for other co-morbidities that have been associated with severe Covid-19, such as obesity, cancer, kidney disease, lung disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes , hypertension and allergies.

Maher Morris Amin, an elderly resident, said his symptoms improved within a week.

“It (the medicine) really helped me a lot because I’m over 60 and reduced my symptoms in just about seven days. They (healthcare workers) take great care of all patients. “

Nermine added, “This is all free and done in a very impressive way. For everyone, no matter where they come from.
