Steve Smith and David Warner were named to the Australian World Cup team after serving a one – year ban on balloon tampering.

Former Captain Smith and Vice Captain Warner were fined and banned for their role in the incident during the third test in South Africa in March 2018.

His fellow drummer Cameron Bancroft, banned for nine months, returned in December.

Australian coaches president Trevor Hohns said Smith and Warner's return to cricket was "nice".

They played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season with Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, respectively.

"We are extremely pleased with the way the ODI team has developed over the last six months, including the recent victories of the series in India and against Pakistan in the Arab Emirates. United, "said Hohns.

"Steve Smith and David Warner are coming back to the team, both are world clbad players and it has been nice to see them produce a good form in the IPL."

The spinners Adam Zampa and Nathan Lyon have been named in Australia alongside Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Jason Behrendorff, Jhye Richardson and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

But Josh Hazlewood and Peter Handscomb – who marked his centennial in India last month – have not been included.
