The thieves were taken to the MCE office by police to avoid lynching
On Friday morning, a large crowd besieged the office of the director general of the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) Municipal Assembly in the central region to demand the release of some suspected armed thieves held in this order. to prevent them from being lynched by an angry mob.
The said armed thieves allegedly attacked a vehicle at Elmina Junction and blocked objects.
According to some eyewitnesses, thieves were chased from where the robbery took place to the badembly which is about 200 meters from the scene of the incident.
Some police officers in the badembly hall managed to take the alleged thieves to the MCE office to prevent the angry mob from lynching them.
