Striker Jordan Ayew signed a three-year deal with Crystal Palace, which had loaned last season with the Eagles.

The 27-year-old Swansea Champion for the £ 2.5m mark scored just two goals in all competitions under Roy Hodgson last season, including a FA Cup winner against Grimsby.

While Michy Batshuayi is back in Chelsea after his six-month loan to Selhurst Park last season, Hodgson was left short of attack. Connor Wickham has so far managed a pre-season without injury and told Standard Sport last week that he was feeling back to his "old me".

Ayew joins Wickham, Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth as a Hodgson striker before the new campaign.

"I am very happy [to have returned]. I had a really good time last season, "said Ayew, who scored two goals for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations, on the club's website.

"I enjoyed the stadium, the fans, the boys – they were really good to me – everything was positive and that's why I decided to continue with Crystal Palace."

Hodgson said, "We are delighted to secure Jordan's services for three more seasons at Crystal Palace, he has a proven track record of being a dedicated and hard-working member of the team and has certainly played his role in the club. getting his best points in the Premier League count in the last campaign ".
