Cuphead the game becomes Cuphead the Netflix animated series

The latest adaptation of a video game by Netflix is ​​undoubtedly the most obvious so far, as its source material already looks like a Saturday morning cartoon. The spoon show, announced on Tuesday by Copper MDHR Studio, a video game developer, is a partnership with the King Features animation production company, exclusively for Netflix. No publishing window has been announced yet.

The original side-scrolling game launched in 2017 on Xbox consoles after a long, well-written effort to animate most of his characters and worlds by hand. The results thus espoused the dynamic and synchronous animation style of 1930s cartoons music with a diversity of worlds and colors not commonly seen at this time. Today's news is accompanied by a unique image that stretches and redraws the main characters in the series, Cuphead and Mugman, to look like modern 2D cartoons, with the thick outline types seen in digitally badisted attempts to recreate the 1970s era of Chuck Jones. This corresponds to the news, reported by Deadline, that the series will be produced by Dave Wbadon, who worked on the restart Mickey Mouse shorts found on Disney's cable television services (and, soon, Disney +). These Disney shorts rely heavily on digital animation tools, as opposed to the tedious, hand-drawn process of this video game. Today's single-image tease has enough similarities to the other works of Wbadon to suggest such a transition of production for this streaming version of television Copper.

This new addition marks another entry in Netflix's adaptation series list, which currently includes an animated, adult version of Konami. Castlevania and a cartoon adaptation for kids from Carmen Sandiego. The producers behind this Castlevania series are currently working on an animated version of Capcom Devil can cry, while the live-action versions of The witcher (with Henry Cavill) and resident Evil are also in the works.
