Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has renewed the curfew for the suburbs of Bimbilla, Alavanyo and Nkonya.

Separate statements signed by Interior Minister Ambrose Dery indicated that on Friday, July 26, 2019, beginning Friday, July 26, 2019, the curfew on the Bimbilla suburb would be renewed at 10 pm Executive instrument.

The curfew imposed on the townships of Alavanyo and Nkonya and their environs in the Oti region is from 6 pm to 6 am starting Sunday, July 28, 2019.

"The government continues to urge leaders, opinion leaders, youth and residents of the region to show restraint in dealing with the challenges they face and to use non-violent means to devote their energies to ensuring peace in the region, "the statement said.

"Meanwhile, all people in Bimbilla County and surrounding areas are totally prohibited from carrying weapons, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and anyone found with weapons or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted in justice".
