The Aboadze thermal power plants in the west of the country will resume from this weekend the supply of gas from the Ghana Gas Company Limited.
This follows badurances from engineers working on the connection of NGC pipelines to the West African Gas Pipeline (WAPCO) from Nigeria that natural gas should be pumped into the station. 'Aboadze for commissioning purposes, between Friday 5 and Saturday 6 April.

In recent weeks, factories have been operating below capacity, in part because of the shutdown of pipelines that supply natural gas for electricity to produce electricity for consumers.
The other reason, according to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, is due to the accumulation of debt in the energy sector.
The team, he said, is working ahead of the 12-day deadline for completing the work after the pipeline closure.
About 60 million standard cubic feet of gas per day is expected to be transferred from the west to also power the East thermal power plants in Accra.
Completion of the pipeline engineering works, which is the entrance to the Takoradi Dosing and Control Station in Aboadze, is expected to put an end to the irregular supply resulting from low energy production.

Tasks completed
According to Mr. Owusu Bempah, the planned 12-day shutdown resulted in significant progress over the next few days.
He indicated that, so far, the team has successfully decommissioned the ventilation ducts of the existing facilities and connected them to the new ventilation ducts, as the loop check of the ESDV23011 and ESDV23012 is in progress. completion.
A test to check for raw leaks has also been successfully completed and, at the same time, the insertion of the 1.5 km VRA pipeline is also underway.
The connection work at the intake is complete and the leak test has also been successfully completed, while the emergency stop valve termination work (ESDV23011) is being completed. In progress.
Exceptional works
He added that the entry and exit of the diversion are isolated and decommissioned pending the uninstallation of the pipelines.
Sandblasting of new pipelines, cleaning and painting of new oil pipelines are underway and completion is scheduled for Friday, April 5, said Owusu Bempah.
Meanwhile, the engineering team is working on gravel leveling under the main support. "The backfilling and repositioning of the valve supports for the separator inlet valves is underway and should be completed tomorrow (Friday, April 5, 2019)," he added.
