Local residents believe that Philippe Coutinho's difficulties in Barcelona could be due to the house in which he lives, according to reports.

Coutinho has long been badociated with a return to the Premier League after leaving Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with the Brazilian, whose apparent desire to leave seemed rather to be a kind of red herring in an otherwise quiet winter window.

Coutinho He struggled to settle in Barcelona since moving to Merseyside. His inconsistent performances did not impress the boss Ernesto Valverde.

His former Liverpool team-mate, Luis Suarez, helped him find a property when he moved to Spain and settled in a house in Castelldefels, a popular football district.

And a report in ESPN that there is a "joke among local residents" that the "home of Coutinho is a spell" after a series of previous owners without success.

Cesc Fabregas bought the same house shortly before returning to the Premier League with Chelsea, before Thomas Vermaelan, ravaged by injuries, did not come and settle.

Andre Gomes was the last player to own the property after his expensive move to Valencia – but he only played 16 Liga matches last season before being transferred to Everton on loan for 2018-19.

Coutinho was supposed to be the man who would end the curse, but a separate report on Thursday mentions him among the 11 players that will be eliminated by Barcelona as they seek to recast the team.

ESPN Deportes Coutinho is at the top of the list of players about to leave with Samuel Umtiti and Ivan Rakitic, two other big names who are preparing for the exit door.
