A group called the Economic Fighters League has asked the government to immediately cut all ties with South Africa.

This is due to the inability of the South African government to deal with attacks against other African nationals in the country, resulting in loss of life and property damage.

In an interview with Radio Ghana, the group's Fighter General, Hardi Yakubu, described the attacks as "Afro-phobic, but not xenophobic, as they targeted African nationals.

"We have noticed that over the years, African compatriots have been mbadacred and driven out of their homes in South Africa simply because they are African and live in South Africa. The South African government has taken no concrete action to stem the tide of such Afro-phobic acts. We call it Afro-phobia rather than Xenophobia, because xenophobia is violence against all foreigners in a country, but the kind of violence that occurs in South Africa is only aimed at African citizens. "

The group also called on African countries to refrain from laws banning their fellow citizens from being African.

"Let's not go far, in Ghana, we have the Ghana Investment Promotion Act, which states that foreigners are not eligible for retail trade. Africans are part of the definition of aliens in this law. We have recently witnessed in Kumasi some agitations against Nigerian traders in this regard. This is an example of a law that limits African integration.

Although he recognizes that this law may go against the purpose for which the group calls on Ghana to cut ties with South Africa, the seriousness of the attacks in the southern part of the continent has made it necessary.
