The absence of Dael Fry and Daniel Ayala will leave Tony Pulis defenseless centrally
Middlesbrough defensemen Dael Fry and Daniel Ayala will miss the rest of the season due to injuries and their recovery will continue during the off-season.
The center back Fry, 21, was torn the hamstring during training and Boro's boss, Tony Pulis, expects it to be absent for 12 weeks.
Meanwhile, Ayala, 28, was pulled out of the Hull win with what the scans showed as "a serious ligament injury".
"It's a blow," said Pulis about the back of Fry's injury.
"He took insurance and played in all sorts of positions.
"We are delighted with his progress, I thought he was our best player last weekend.
"Dani has serious ligament damage and he will not be back this season either."
Boro now has some great defensive absentees, with George Friend also unavailable, while they pursue a spot in the championship play-off.
