Danny Rose debuted in England in 2016 and has 26 caps.

Jermaine Jenas told BBC Radio 5 Live that Tottenham's Danny Rose could overcome his resentment towards football and become a source of inspiration for future black players.

English left-back Rose, 28, "can not wait to see the back" of the match because of lack of action on the racism of supporters.

Jenas said Rose had the "responsibility" to resist abuse, like John Barnes and Cyrille Regis in the 1980s.

"Danny should love being a player," said his friend and former teammate.

"All his pbadion, in order to get away from hatred, should be turned into a position in which young black players can watch him and know that it will be easier for them when they become professional footballers. "

Racist slogans were sent to several English players, including Rose, during the Euro 2020 qualifying match in Montenegro in March.

Uefa has accused Montenegro of racist behavior, but the Spurs defender is not expecting a significant penalty.

Rose said: "When you fined yourself, what I probably spend in a party in London, what are you waiting for?

"The way I program myself is that I think I have five or six more years left in football and I can not wait to see the result."

"See how things are going in the game by the minute, just move on."

Rose should not leave football – Guardiola

The former Tottenham midfielder, Jenas, who said he remained in touch with the player, said he was surprised by the position.

Aged 36, he told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I come from a time when [ex-Liverpool and England player] John Barnes was my hero.

"In the same way [ex-West Brom and England striker] Cyrille Regis was a time when racism was commonplace – these players resisted that.

"They handled the game in a professional way, they pushed the game forward mbadively to allow Danny and me to play games where he's not that bad.

"I feel like Danny and [Manchester City and England winger] Raheem Sterling, who took the lead, has the responsibility to continue this message, to defend it. Do not want to turn your back. "
