Some residents of the suburb of Accra Dansoman, Dansoman, marched through the streets to protest the high cost of living and the delay of development in the area.

According to them, Saturday's Ku Y3 Preko became necessary to express their dissatisfaction with the slow development in the region.

Wear red armbands and bandanas, protesters marched through the streets of Last Stop's Dansoman at the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly Office.

Although voter turnout was low, participants who spoke to Joy News said they would not rest until their demands were met by the government.

"I live around Dansoman Agege and whenever it's raining, all activities stop because no one can go out and enter. There is trash everywhere, "said one resident.

Another resident, Mike Ahadzie, who lives at the Dansoman Last Stop, the development of his region is down, which makes life unbearable.

"The road network in Dansoman is terrible, I have a car but, because of the nature of the roads, I resorted to motorbike.

"This is an opportunity for us to inform the head of the municipality and the deputy about our plight," said the injured resident.

The protesters then submitted a petition to the ERM in the region, George Cyril Blay, who said the protest was held for the wrong reasons.

"It is unfortunate that you have not bothered to ask the Assembly what it does for the municipality.

"It is clear that all you are asking for are things done in the past, and we will let you know that in the future, it will be more appropriate to approach the Assembly. before hitting the streets, "he told residents protesting.

Ebenezer Quartey, leader of the group, said he was disappointed with the MCE's response and promised not to remain quiet until their demands were met.

"We are not happy at all, what the MCE says is full of lies, we voted for an ERM for development but we do not see it.

"We will go home and meet our leaders to define the next steps," he said.
