David Beckham has offered Barcelona star Luis Suarez a four-year contract to join his new MLS team, Inter Miami, according to reports.
The former midfielder of Manchester United and Real Madrid, who also played in the United States with LA Galaxy, is now the owner of the Miami-based club.
And with the team to enter the MLS in March 2020, Catalunya Radio Mitten Club program claims that Beckham tried to persuade Suarez to become the face of his franchise.
According to the Spanish point of sale, the ex-ace of Liverpool has been offered a big four-year contract to leave Camp Nou next year, before the club's first season in the league .
However, it is also argued that the Uruguayan international has rejected the offer in favor of staying with the champions of La Liga.
Suarez joined Barcelona for £ 75 million in 2014 and has imposed himself as one of the best players in the team alongside Lionel Messi.
At his five years at Camp Nou, the 32-year-old helped the Spanish giants win four league titles, as well as four Copa del Rey wins and one Champions League trophy.
He ended the 2015-16 campaign as La Liga's top scorer after finding the net 40 times.
Suarez is not the only player from Barcelona to be tied to a move to the United States. Sergio Busquets is also considered a target for MLS teams.
In April, the club's midfielder told Sports Illustrated that a change in the MLS "really attracted me" and that the rumor would also circulate in Beckham's radar.
Founded in January 2018, Inter Miami is getting closer to its first game after plans to build a new stadium, the Miami Freedom Park, were approved in November.
Beckham was in the city this week and went on social media to take stock of the club.
He said on Instagram: "You had a great week in Miami with meetings and some milestones, like the first look at our kids from the academy, which was a moment of pride.
"Exciting times await us as owners, our fans and our city."
