David De Gea is about to finally put an end to his rumors about his future at Manchester United by signing a £ 375,000 contract a week.

The Spanish is engaged in contractual negotiations with the club for over a year and he has 12 months to execute his existing contract, signed in 2015 after the failure of the transfer to Real Madrid.

De Gea was seeking badurances about the future of the club and did not want to enter into a new deal while Jose Mourinho remained in the club, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was only in the interim.

The 28-year-old would have sought parity with United's best player, Alexis Sanchez, but according to many reports, he is about to sign an agreement to become the club's second-biggest player.

The deal, worth £ 91 million over five years, makes De Gea the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.

De Gea will get his hands on the contract once United returns from his pre-season tour, which will greatly boost Solskjaer, who has not concealed his desire to keep the Spaniard.

It follows that Marcus Rashford's decision to stay at Old Trafford and United does not exclude the possibility that Paul Pogba will sign a new agreement, even though he wanted to leave in public.
