David De Gea was one of the first Manchester United players to wish Marouane Fellaini good luck after the Belgian international finished his run at Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng on Friday.
Fellaini leaves Old Trafford after four and a half years with the Red Devils. His presence and continued selection by various directors have often been criticized.
He scored 22 goals in 177 games for United, where he played with his former coach Everton, David Moyes, as well as Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.
The midfielder won the FA Cup with United in 2016, as well as the Coupe de la Ligue and the Europa League under Mourinho in 2017.
And De Gea chose Instagram to say goodbye to the 31-year-old.
In his Instagram account, he writes: "I will miss you very much, my brother, all the best!"
A statement on United's website after the transfer stated: "Everyone at United thanks Marouane for his services and wish him good luck in the future as he completes his transfer to Shandong Luneng Taishan FC in China."
Fellaini had signed a two-year contract with United last summer and was under contract at the club until 2020.
He then wrote on Instagram: "A huge thank you to everyone I worked with during my time at @manchesterunited, I made some very good friends and I wish them, as well as at the club, a lot of success for the future #manchesterunited. "
