Rumors about cast members coming back for a fourth season on Strange things have started after a death (spoiler) in the show this year. If you have not seen the third full season of Strange things however, turn away from the next paragraph, even though this death is far from being official.
In the last episode, we discovered that Hawkins' chief of police, Jim Hopper, may have been evaporated when the Russians set off their key-operated machine to open a gateway to the world from the back. Because no one saw him die officially, the general consensus is that he may have survived.
Nobody says for the moment, but all reports say that David Harbor, who plays Hopper, is under contract to return for a fourth season. Explaining death here may look slightly like the Marvel cinematic universe.
The index of Russians having an American in prison
If you're paying attention at the end of this episode where Hopper is supposed to die, there's a post-credit scene stating that the Russians have an American in custody. Fans are quick to see that this probably means that Hopper is still alive and under the control of the Russians.
Those who are too young to remember that Russia was our true nemesis in the 1980s will know that it is a big problem and could easily create an international incident. We will not know how such a thing could happen in the fourth season before a year or two.
The plot with the Russians was supposed to be ironic, but allusions to what is happening today with our strained relations with Russia can not help but be perceptible. We hope they will draw parallels between the 1980s and today. There is not always an attempt at shows.
In the world of Strange thingsHowever, everything is possible. Bringing back Hopper can mean managing the tricks the MCU now uses by diving into the science fiction pool.
Will death be a definitive day in the 'Stranger Things' universe?
It's pretty clear Strange things the intention to use death as a conspiracy on occasion to create shocking results. As in the MCU, this does not mean that a person loses life is a total purpose.
When you have a show that uses really strange things, anything is possible. Only time travel seems to have been avoided so far Strange things apart from not likely to be completely out of the table.
For fans, this should give them a better feeling if one of the main members of the teenage cast dies one day. You can almost bet that one of them will eventually leave some ambiguity about not being able to recover them in one form or another.
Harbor being an essential part of casting chemistry, it's obvious that they will not get it out of the show completely. The same can be said of Millie Bobby Brown unless she decides to leave the show before her clbadmates.
If there are many deaths at the end of "Stranger Things", it is perhaps as if the MCU
Strange things could conclude after a fifth season, according to rumors and comments of the Duffer brothers. If that happened this way, be prepared for the Upside-Down government to have enough problems to kill a lot of people. The Russians and the Hawkins may be partly responsible for this situation.
To leave things open to all who left, to stay alive would be the best way to end the series, since the finalization of the characters never gets better with the fans. Marvel has set a new precedent for death in science fiction / fantasy stories, so things always stay open for meetings or cameos.
Let's also hope that this is an old and simple practice. Now that the Russians are involved, it can involve a simple mystery and an international plot to explain how people can disappear for a long time and suddenly find themselves alive.
