Nigerian music act and eulogy of the moment Davido was in action on Saturday February 20 at Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos for a charity match which was reportedly hosted by his affiliations.
The star studded encounter featured top musical groups including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, May D, Asa Asika, Dremo, Tunji and Adewale Adeleke, Idowest Kiddwaya, Laycon and a host of others.
It was accepted that Davido, captain of his team, 30BG FC, scored a brace to the delight of the few fans who managed to be in the stands.
The DMW boss impressed the charity, but ‘E be Tins’ crooner Dremo personally took to his official Twitter handle to reveal that he had pulled off a hat trick during the meeting.
Dremo wrote: “I scored 3 goals today.”
Meanwhile, BBNaija’s ex-roommate Laycon recognized Davido as one of Afrobeats’ greatest voices, saying his music connects with people.
The Lockdown star said this in an article he wrote for Time about crooner Blow My Mind who recently made Time’s 100 most influential people list.
According to Laycon, Davido puts 100% in every song he makes, noting that his latest album topped one billion streams in 2020.
In the article, the reality TV star recalled the EndSARS movement and how Davido’s GEF was an anthem peaceful protesters used to call for government accountability rather than apologize.
He said:
“When he released the song ‘FEM’ in 2020, a track that loosely translates to ‘shut up’ in Yoruba, he had no idea it would become a major protest anthem #EndSARS, as the young people banded together. to demand that the government act to end police brutality in Nigeria last October. ”
Davido spotted Time’s tweet about Laycon’s handwriting and retweeted it. The singer captioned the tweet with a love emoji.
In the meantime, YEN.com.gh On Friday, February 19, “ Lagos Anthem ” crooner Zlatan Ibile took to his Twitter account to post a photo showing him in a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform.
In the caption accompanying the photo, the rapper questioned the relevance of having to go to school just to get an education.
Zlatan, in his post, also argued that having a certificate in no way guarantees a stable means of income.
