Mary Boatemaa Marfo Mary Boatemaa Marfo, District Manager, Sekyere East District

Mary Boatemaa Marfo, District Chief of Sekyere East (DCE), accused Osabarima Asare Ankoma Boamah, the Kontihene of Asante Asokore (traditional region), of peddling the "lie" during a press conference convening President Akufo-Addo.

According to the DCE, she did not disrespect the supreme leader, Nana Susubiribi Krobea Asante, insisting that the Kontihene's personal mission is to destroy her career.

Reacting to the announcement that the leaders of the region want President Akufo-Addo to dismiss her, Ms. Marfo said the traditional council had dissociated from the Kontihene's statement.

The deputy chief accused the DCE of "disrespecting" a meeting convened by the supreme leader, claiming that it was a deliberate affront.

He indicated that the board decided not to work with the WFD because of his conduct and asked the chair to remove him from office.

However, DCE told DAILY GUIDE yesterday that these lies were part of a campaign to smear her after a misunderstanding that ensued between her and some members of the badembly about problems related to bicycles.

"Omanhene is surprised at the behavior of the leader and has since communicated his dissociation from the statement attributed to Nana Boamah.

"I was at the Supreme Leader's residence to discuss with him development issues in the area at the time he (Osabairma Boamah) was holding the press conference," he said.

The WFD said it did not have a personal grudge with the Kontihene to justify such hatred, adding that members of the traditional council had also expressed concern about the manner in which the deputy chief had made the case public.

Later, the Nana SKB Foundation General Director, Gyimah Ninkah Andrews, corroborated the WFD's story, claiming that the supreme leader had been taken aback by hearing Kontihene's statements.

According to him, the supreme leader would not demand the dismissal of the WF by the president because of the experience he had acquired in the resolution of disputes by arbitration.
