Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, Deputy Director of Police (DCOP), Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, was promoted to Police Commissioner.

She is one of six other Deputy Police Commissioners (DCOPs) who have been promoted to this rank.

The others are Mr. George Tuffuor, Director General of Finance, Mr. Alex Amponsah Asiamah, Services, Mr. George Alex Mensah, Operations, Mr. Alphonse Adu-Amankwah, Commander of the Eastern Region and Mr. Timothy Yoosah Bonga, Commander of the police of the northern region.

Promotions take effect on April 1, 2019.

Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, Inspector General of Police, reports that three other individuals, Mr. Francis Aboagye Narko, Mr. Ernest Kwabena Owusu and Felix Ofosu Agyemang, have been promoted to the position of Assistant Commissioner of DCOP, while the Superintendent Kwasi Ofori and Ms. Faustina Agyeiwaa Kodua Andoh-Kwofie were promoted to Assistant Commissioners.

Nine other officers, all medical doctors, were promoted to chief superintendents.

COP Addo-Danquah was promoted to DCOP on November 1, 2017 and confirmed as IDC Chair on January 24, 2018.
