Deadly global health threats must be treated as terrorism, says chief medical officer

BRitain faces terrorism with deadly threats to health, as does terrorism, because deadly infections are borderless, said the government's medical officer.

In her latest report, before retiring and becoming the first woman to become a Trinity College Cambridge mistress, Dame Sally Davies said that the UK needed to adopt a global health approach similar to its strategy of fighting against terrorism (CONTEST).

This strategy brings together intelligence agencies from around the world to "prevent, prosecute, protect and prepare" a terrorist attack and allows countries to act quickly in a concerted manner in case of atrocity.
