WWE has confirmed that Dean Ambrose will leave the company in April.

The Shield member, whose real name is Jonathan Good, has agreed on his release and will leave WWE after WrestleMania.

"We are grateful and grateful for all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans, we wish him good luck and hope that he will come back to WWE someday."

Ambrose joined WWE Developmental in 2011 after establishing himself on the independent stage under the name of Jon Moxley. He was featured alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as The Shield in the 2012 Survivor Series.

He then became Grand Slam champion and recently won the Intercontinental title, won by his longtime friend and rival, Rollins, before being lost by Bobby Lashley.

Ambrose, whose actual wife, Renee Young, is currently a commentator on Raw, was featured in the Royal Rumble on Sunday night and was eliminated by NXT star Aleister Black.
