A former supermodel and TV revealed how homeless she was and was sleeping outside one of the companies she'd been a model for.
Deana told her story in the first episode of 60 Days on the Streets – which follows survival specialist Ed Stafford as he explores British cities by sleeping rough.
She is now sleeping in a makeshift house outside Debenhams in central Manchester, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Ed, 43, spent two months in Manchester, London and Glasgow, in the winter, without money, food and shelter to film his new documentary, Channel 4.
In the first episode aired tonight, Deana can be seen telling Ed to enter his makeshift house – which is basically a blue canopy on shopping carts located at Piccadilly Gardens – before explaining how she went from modeling to street.
Deana, mother of six, said, "I was a role model when I was a kid. I did a lot of work. I've done a lot of extra work, a lot of modeling, you know, images for Marks and Spencer and United Colors of Benetton.
"I did Dash, I did a lot of catalogs."
"I did Debenhams," she says, gesturing to the Market Street store, which is next to her bed each night.
"I finished Coronation Street, Brookside, Eastenders, I also did Crossroads. Extras, yeah.
"Mallet, Mallet, Timmy Mallett – Wacaday, that's all."
When Ed tries to figure out how she went from a successful past to a hectic life, Deana tells her that it started when her parents divorced.
"When I was 13, my father took me to the kitchen and said," With whom do I want to live? " Your mother or your father. My father was moving to Bristol.
"I chose to live with my mother, then everything took the form of a pear. She was an addict.
"If I was pushed like a child, in the right direction, I would not be sitting here today. I would have done something with my life. "
Although she does not reveal exactly when she started sleeping badly, Deana talks a bit about her children.
She said: "I have children." Married when I was young, 15 years old, first love, been with him for god knows how long, but unfortunately it did not work.
"It's heartbreaking, because I can not bring my kids here."
Ed also spoke about the horror of how the "zombie" drug Spice has taken over the streets of Manchester.
He said the city was "the most manic" of all the places he visited.
"Manchester was shocking," said Ed.
"It's the most manic place, the drugs, the spices, have devastated parts of the homeless community and you see them in the main squares, frozen like zombies."
60 Days on the Streets will air tonight on Channel 4 at 9 pm
