Some injured customers of Menzgold
Ten clients of the gold distribution company, Menzgold Ghana Limited, have died as a result of the bankruptcy of the company, said Kwabena Bonsu, Ashanti regional secretary of the Coalition of Aggrieved Menzgold Customers.
According to him, others have also suffered a stroke and are unable to walk because of the loss of their investments.
To this end, he called on the state to speed up the steps taken to deal with company executives and to ensure that customers get their money back.
Mr. Bonsu said on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Kwabena Prah Jnr (The Don) on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM that even though the government had taken steps to remedy the situation, including Menzgold's CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1), customers are not satisfied.
"We recognize the measures taken by the government to remedy the situation, but we are not satisfied with the progress of the work," he said.
He added: "It seems that the government has fallen asleep after the initial measures taken to confiscate the badets of NAM1, and the customers are not satisfied with that."
"As we speak, 10 Menzgold customers have lost their lives in this situation. Four died in Tarkwa in the western region, three in Kumasi and four in Accra. Others have also suffered a stroke. "
