Bengaluru (Karnataka), June 10 (ANI): The veteran actor, playwright and director Girish Karnad, died at the age of 81, Monday, at the age of 81. He was born in the Matheran of Maharashtra in 1938. Karnad was known for his work in the field of literature and cinema. He has also become a renowned face in the country after performing the role of Swami's father in the television series Malgudi Days. He was conferred with Padma Shri in 1974 and Padma Bhushan in 1992.
