Death of the German film producer Artur Brauner at the age of 100

Artur Brauner, a Holocaust survivor born in Poland, who became one of the largest producers of German films after the Second World War, died at 100 years.

Mr Brauner's family said he had died in Berlin on Sunday, according to the German news agency DPA.

Mr. Brauner has produced hundreds of films, including Dr. Mabuse's crime movies and other hits such as Girls In Uniform, along with Romy Schneider.

Many of the films that he produced evoke the memory of the Holocaust.

Europa Europa, winner of Agnieszka Holland's Golden Globe, tells the story of a boy from Nazi Germany joining Hitler's youth in an attempt to conceal his Jewish identity.

Babi Yar focused on the Nazi mbadacre of 1941 in Ukraine, during which several of Mr. Brauner's relatives had been killed.
