Death of Willy Wonka and chocolate star Denise Nickerson

Denise Nickerson, actress for children, best known for her role as Violet Beauregarde in the iconic 1970s movie Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, died at the age of 62 years.

According to a report in TMZNickerson unfortunately died last night (July 10th) after having suffered a seizure that finally left her in intensive care.

Nickerson, who eventually stopped acting to become a nurse, also suffered a severe stroke last year.

In addition to his turn as odious but determined chewing gum Violet Beauregarde in the musical adaptation of Roald Dahl Charlie and the chocolate factoryDenise appeared in comedies of the 1970s Smile and Zero to sixty.
