Debate on Hong Kong extradition bill postponed following massive protests

Clashes between police and protesters in Hong Kong erupted as a result of a controversial draft amendment to the law on extradition.
It was the scene, not long ago, outside the Legislative Council building.
We have heard that tear gas has been fired.
Previously, the debate on the bill had been delayed.
The change in the law would allow suspects in Hong Kong to be tried in mainland China.
Critics say China is trying to take more control of the semi-autonomous territory and destroy civil liberties.
