A member of the petitioner’s communications team in the ongoing Supreme Court election dispute, Abraham Amaliba, wants the day the first defendant to take the witness stand to be declared a public holiday.

Mr. Amaliba told host Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin in an interview on Akoma FM GhanAkoma’s morning show on Thursday, February 4 that “the day Jean Mensa, the first responder, will raise the witness stand, Ghana will be very interesting and I can’t wait to see my lead lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata question Jean Mensa in the witness stand during cross-examination ”.

For the legal team of the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama, it seems that the climax of the entire court hearing will be the day when the chairman of the Election Commission of Ghana (EC) finally faces his lead lawyer, Tsatsu Tsikata, in the witness stand. .

John Mahama’s legal team explained that “the first defendant who was the President of the EC, Jean Adukwei Mensa, is the culmination of the whole litigation, so we expect Tsatsu Tsikata to explore many angles. which will trigger many revelations around the petition in court ”.

“So we are really waiting for all the requests to be filed and authorized to make way for the day when Tsatsu takes on Jean Mensh in the witness stand.”

On Wednesday 3 February, the Court rejected the petitioner’s new request for access to certain official documents of the first defendant.

The court adjourned the hearing to Friday, February 5.
