Arsenal tied Rob Holding until 2024 after the player decided to commit his future to the club.

Rob Holding is enjoying one of his best individual seasons as a gunner and it has improved a lot for the defender after signing a new long-term deal with the club until 2024.

Rob Holding signed a new long-term contract with us, until 2024 with an option for an additional year.

Since joining the Bolton Gunners in June 2016, this hasn’t exactly been the time of Rob Holding’s life. With the club in a construction phase and under new management a few times in the post-Wenger era, it was tough for any player at the North London club.

What made things even more miserable for Rob Holding was he remained injured, having fewer and limited opportunities compared to most.

He could never handle a season with more than 12 games under his belt – 12 and 10 appearances for a season being his biggest Arsenal colors.

Aside from the aforementioned tally, his next best was eight screenings. Fortunately and I hope his bad injury is behind him and he continues to stay fit at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta has shown a lot of confidence in the Englishman, using him several times as part of a back-three or four. Furthermore, he has already surpassed his total of 12 features and has played 14 times for Arsenal in the Premier League this quarter.

Mikel Arteta on the extension of the Rob Holding contract:

Since starting as a manager, I have been extremely impressed with Rob’s contribution to the club and the dressing room, on and off the pitch.

The quality of his daily work on the training grounds is excellent and he translates it into consistently high performance in matches.

We all know the quality of Rob, which he has shown during the intense moments of these last two FA Cup victories.

We are all very happy that Rob has signed a new contract, he is very popular with all the players and staff, and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow with us in the years to come. (Via: arsenal.com)

At 25, he has many years ahead of him and may be part of the backbone Arteta is building in the Emirates in the near and distant future.

If he continues to impress his manager and participate with an odd purpose every now and then, he will certainly be the first name on the squad roster for many years to come.

Arsenal expect to do a lot more business on top of this contract extension. Many players are on the sidelines, and the Gunners are looking for the best deals to raise money for possible new income.
