Dejan Lovren has visited a strength and conditioning coach in Croatia to prepare for Bayern Munich.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed Thursday that he was planning without the center of the first leg of the Champions League last Tuesday against his former German opponent at Anfield.
The 2018 World Cup finalist, Lovren, missed the Reds' training camp in Marbella this week as he returned to his homeland for a specific fitness and reinforcement work on the injury to the thigh that kept him away from January 7th.
Despite his pessimism outside, former Borussia coach Dortmund, Klopp, has not given up hope that the defender can claim a place late to meet Bayern.
Lovren has been treated all week and is expected to return to the Liverpool training ground on Saturday to join the team in anticipation of his thrilling match in Europe.
Klopp explained, "I do not want to exclude it, but I can not really plan with it.
"Starting Saturday, Dejan is back in Melwood and we'll see. If Dejan gives a sign Monday "I feel great", we will have to think again. But, of course, we have to prepare it differently. He is not here (in Marbella) for good reason because he can not participate in the training.
"At the moment we are preparing the game, and in this preparation, Dejan is not involved. We must find other solutions. "
While Lovren remains a big doubt for Tuesday, Klopp has had better news on Gini Wijnaldum.
The key midfielder resumed training this week after suffering from an illness that he played to score in the win over Bournemouth on the weekend, but what about had spread it during the camp of Marbella.
"So he had a little dip (with the illness, but he will start (training) today, so it's good," Klopp said before Thursday afternoon's session.
The boss of Liverpool also gave the green light to James Milner, also sick, and to Fabinho (slight muscle fatigue). Lovren and Joe Gomez are separated, he now has an irreproachable health, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri both taking their training.
However, Virgil van Dijk is suspended for Bayern's visit, leaving him with a central defensive headache.
