The Delhi High Court on Monday requested Robert Vadra's response to the petition for the cancellation of his advance bond in a money-laundering case.
Judge Chander Shekhar provided Vadra with an opinion in response to ED's motion challenging the April 1 order of the court of first instance, which granted him early release on bail.
The court also asked Manoj Arora, a close badociate of Vadra, to follow up on the agency's request for cancellation of the provisional bond.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, ED's representative in court, said that Vadra's detention was contingent on the need for his custody, as the trial court had not yet considered the seriousness of the offense. .
Vadra, Congress President's brother-in-law, Rahul Gandhi, faces money laundering charges when buying a London building at 12, Bryanston Square, worth 1.9 million of books (about 17 million rupees).
The case is examined in accordance with the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
