WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has 39 knockouts from his 40 pro fights.

Deontay Wilder will defend his WBC Heavyweight title on May 18 at Barclays Center in New York against mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale.

The fight comes two weeks before British unified champion Anthony Joshua faces Jarrell Miller at Madison Square Garden in New York. Joshua holds all the other significant heavyweight belts.

Getting Wilder and Joshua in the same ring could take time. Wilder's expected opponent for the May bout, Tyson Fury, has chosen to look for other options rather than arguing immediately with Wilder, with heavyweight Kiwi Joseph Parker among his potential opponents.

Fury and Wilder fought a brilliant draw in Los Angeles last December.

Wilder, 33, had won his first 40 bouts, 39 by KO, before the draw against Fury.

Breazeale, also 33, is 20-1 with 18 KOs. The only defeat went to Joshua almost three years ago. He has since won three times, twice at Barclays, to get his shot at Wilder.

Wilder v Breazeale will be televised by Showtime. Wilder refused a lucrative offer from the DAZN streaming service to show this fight and several others.
