Deputy Governor of the State of Imo, Rt. Hon. Gerald Alphonsus Irona, on the weekend, visited some communities in the state ravaged by floods, baduring them of the state government's determination to bring them help.
Addressing residents of the affected communities in Orsu Obodo, in the local government area of Oguta, in the state of Imo, the deputy governor described the development of unhappy, even he reiterated the commitment of the state government to improve their suffering.
"On behalf of the Government of Imo State, headed by our Governor, His Excellency Chief Emeka Ihedioha, we are here to see things for ourselves. It is regrettable. "We will send experts to see how to make sure this is controlled and that it does not happen again. I am here to sympathize with the victims of the flood. We saw and appreciated the extent of the damage. We have seen that most communities have been submerged. People have lost property, but we are very lucky that no life has been lost so far. We will try to give palliatives to the victims. "
