Unfortunately, it seems Designated Survivor is running out of life buoys.

The drama, which was canceled by ABC last spring, was given a second chance at Netflix in September 2018, when he commissioned a third season of 10 episodes.

But now, the streaming service has removed the series, which means there will be no fourth season.

In a statement, Netflix said: "We are proud to have offered fans a third season of Designated Survivor, and will continue to wear the three seasons for years to come.

"We are particularly grateful to star producer and producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought pbadion, dedication and unforgettable performance as President Kirkman.

"We are also grateful to producer / executive producer Neal Bear for his guiding vision and firm hand, producer / producer David Guggenheim and EP Mark Gordon, Suzan Bymel, Simon Kinberg, Aditya Sood and Peter Noah, as well as actors crafted a convincing and satisfying final season. "

The news comes after star Kiefer Sutherland admitted she did not think a fourth season was going to happen.

Sutherland said the big problem of the fourth season was largely due to contract-related complications resulting from Netflix's presence.

"The truth is that I loved doing this show," added the actor.

"I also miss aspects of what I liked about 24which was really visceral and physical. I think it's time for all of us to go out and find something new to do. "

Designated Survivor is available to watch on Netflix.
