A poll conducted last year during the pandemic outbreak found that 21% of South Africans strongly oppose vaccination against Covid-19.
The government purchased 1.5 million doses of the vaccine for January and February, with an additional 20 million doses in June.
The country has seen an increase in cases since a new variant was identified in the country in November.
