Former President John Dramani Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama asked reporters to gather their thoughts and debate in depth ways to remain important as media professionals for society and the country as a whole.
On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, the former President stressed the importance of dispensing his journalistic skills while maintaining the great principles of democracy and truth.
While commending the Ghanaian journalists, he also urged governments and relevant government agencies to work for the safety and well-being of these journalists to ensure respect for their rights in the performance of their duties.
"On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, I say ayekoo to all journalists and I urge governments and security agencies to guarantee their safety in the execution of their job".
"I also wish to encourage the Ghana Association of Journalists, media men and women and bloggers to deepen their thinking and discuss how to remain relevant to society under the 2019 theme," Media for democracy, journalism and elections in times of misinformation.
