HOBBS, MN (AP) – Devon Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company, is opening an office in southeastern New Mexico.
The Hobbs News-Sun newspaper reports that the Oklahoma City-based company has recently announced plans to expand to Hobbs.
The Hobbs office is expected to open later this summer and will house about 40 of Devon's 225 employees in the booming oil and gas region.
It will be one of five Devon offices located in southeastern New Mexico and in western Texas to support the company's operations in the Delaware Basin.
Devon is present in many of the most prolific oil and natural gas deposits in the United States and Canada.
