NDC Communications Director Kakra Essamuah said his party was ready to attend the bipartite meeting, which should begin the process of ending political militancy in the country.

In her speech on the state of the nation, President Nana Akufo-Addo called on the two main political parties, the NPP and the NDC, to meet as soon as possible to find a lasting solution to the trend worrying vigilance in the country. This call from the president was made necessary by the violence that erupted during the partial election of Ayawaso West Wuogon in January this year.

S addressing www.ghanaweb.com, at a forum held by the media general on Wednesday, March 13, to discuss key solutions to reduce the threat of political vigilance in the country, Kakra Essamuah explained that the NDC would guarantee the objectives of the much awaited dialogue is maintained at the latest.

He also accused the NPP of acting in bad faith and wanting to dissolve party supporters who belonged to their party. "As NDC, we have agreed to participate in the dialogue proposed by the President, whenever we are officially invited.When we go, we put everything we have on the table.We are just waiting for the invitation that come, let talk. Citing the recent violence that marred the by-election in the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon due to alleged activities of politically aligned self-defense groups, President Akufo-Addo said promised to use legislation to end the phenomenon of political vigilance if both parties did not voluntarily.

In his speech on the state of the nation in 2019, the president asked the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to which he belongs, to invite the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to the opposition, to discuss how to dissolve their respective self-defense groups.
