Uber and Lyft basically do the same thing.
Of course, one is pink and the other is black; one is global while the other targets only the United States and Canada; and one plans to steal taxis, while the other does not. But when it is necessary to go from point A to point B, there is not much difference.
This is good for drivers, a great deal of which drives for both Uber and Lyft (and even for other small businesses in markets large enough to have competitors like Via).
Most of the time, the experience of competing applications is pretty much the same. But after hundreds if not thousands of journeys, drivers begin to notice small differences. In many cases, these vary from one market to another.
