Dina Manzo: arrest of a home invasion

An arrest was made in the case of the home invasion involving Dina Manzo from May 2017.

James Maniello, a 51-year-old man from New Jersey, is in custody and facing numerous charges for his alleged role in the incident, the Monmouth County District Attorney's Office announced on Friday, May 3. Maniello was charged with first degree theft; second degree flight; second-degree burglary; aggravated badault of the second degree; two counts of aggravated third degree badault; third degree flight; third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; illegal possession of a fourth-degree weapon; and third degree penal constraint.

Maniello was arrested Friday morning at his home and is currently being held in the Monmouth County Penitentiary in Freehold Township. He is scheduled to appear in the Monmouth County Superior Court next week.

The arrest follows an incident on the night of May 13, 2017, when Dina and her boyfriend, David Cantin, entered their home in Holmdel, New Jersey, looking for two masked intruders. The thieves then rushed towards them before hitting Dina and hitting David with a baseball bat. Dina and David were both injured in the face. David's nose was also broken. The robbers tied the couple and took money and jewelry before escaping from the house.

Andrew Brettler, Dina and David 's attorney, told TMZ that the couple were thanking the New Jersey law enforcement authorities, "whose diligent investigation over the past two years has resulted in the arrest of today ".

The couple added: "Thank you to all those who have expressed concern for our well-being.We have put in place a high quality support system."
